Wireless Local Loop (WLL) systems largely eliminate these copper wires using wireless technologies and could provide a cost effective solution. corDECT is one such WLL system, based on the DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) standard, that provides toll-quality voice and data capability at a cost well below that of a wired local loop.

Performance Improvement of Expanded Integrated Local Area Networks (RESEARCH NOTE)
In Local Area Networks (LAN) connected together by bridges, flow control and smooth traffic in the network is very important. However, congestion at bridges can cause intensive loss of received frames. In addition, the received frames are thrown away and have to be retransmitted by the source station, which causes more congestion and massive reduction in the overall network throughput. The netw...

Wireless Local Loop (WLL) is an emerging technology that allows rapid connection to the wired network from remote locations. A crucial issue for WLL is the system design so that the number of subscribers can be maximized while providing the required quality of service. In this paper, we consider a broadband wireless local loop with fixed point users and we evaluate the subscriber capacity for a...
متن کاملWIRELESS LOCAL LOOP IN DEVELOPING REGIONS: IS IT TOO SOON FOR DATA? - The case of Thailand and Kenya
Wireless networks are often cited as the most economically feasible solution to the severe dearth of communications infrastructure in developing countries. In the short term, the deployment of wireless networks is indeed the optimal solution to the information infrastructure gap in developing countries. Many developing nations have embarked on this road and a loose formula of employing fixed ce...

Wireless sensor networks are often located in areas where access to them is difficult or dangerous. Today, in wireless sensor networks, cluster-based routing protocols by dividing sensor nodes into distinct clusters and selecting local head-clusters to combine and send information of each cluster to the base station and balanced energy consumption by network nodes, get the best performance ...

The demand for data communications in Kenya is growing at a steady rate. Information technologies have become ubiquitous all over the world, including in developing countries like Kenya. Already, educational, health and trade networks connecting remote regions to the rest of the world are taking advantage of the Internet phenomenon. Banks, insurance and financial services firms, and other corpo...
